We go through life wishing that our lives would be different from everyone else in the world, that our dreams would come true, that nothing bad would happen to us, that we would always get what we want, that the universe would be kind to us because we are special...

Well, the truth is - each and everyone of us is just one of the five thousand roses in the garden - all struggling to live in ways that would be meaningful to us. Some dreams are crushed. Bad things happen to us no matter how careful or conscientious we are in living our lives. The world is not our oyster and we will never get everything that we want. The universe continues to throw us curve balls, and all we could really do is to deal with it all.

So, from now on I will be more realistic about my expectations in life. After all, life is under no obligation to give me what I expect. What a bitch!
