It's been almost a month since my ex and I got back together (after two years) and yesterday, we got ourselves a macbook. Yep, other couples decide to have a child, others get a dog; we got ourselves a macbook to mark our coupling.
We cannot take care of anything alive at the moment (or ever?). Our plants and the lovebirds that some people gave us have all died when we were still together. The plants died one by one either of dehydration (because we were always away) or of lack of sunlight (because the last apartment where we lived together was a cave). It was also in that place where one of the lovebirds was eaten by a big rat (because we left the cage in the laundry area), and of course, the other one died of loneliness. It was also in that place where we lost the beautiful potted red palm that the in-laws gave us. We both went to Bangkok for a week and when we came back, our huge potted red palm (including the nice clay jar) was gone, stolen from our nice little strip of garden outside the gate by God-knows-who.
Now, we both live in separate condo units and again always travelling; so, taking care of something alive is indeed not a good idea. But the macbook is perfect for us. It doesn't need to be watered nor regularly fed; and the best thing is - we can always take it with us everywhere we go. Ah... the macbook is a thing of beauty. We will definitely take very good care of it. Maybe we should even give it a name...
